A blend of genres for a mix of people is what the Mixed Grooves movement is about. For NEXT, Mixed Grooves is teaming up with DJ School Amsterdam to curate a line-up of the next gen of common names on the scene.

Denise Lopes
A drummer with a strong musical background, she began her journey as a DJ in 2023, bringing her percussive sensitivity into intense and immersive sets.
Denise’s sound is rooted in the Brazilian pulse, baile funk, dance music, and tech house combined with heavy bass lines and a deep connection to Amsterdam’s underground scene.
HIGHERPRINZ
HIGHERPRINZ is a Techno DJ from Amsterdam, delivering raw, deep and hypnotic techno with rhythmic, energetic, dark and groovy sounds.
Drawn to electronic music since childhood, he started his DJ course at DJ School Amsterdam in 2025 after years of personal growth.
With expressive track selection and carefully built sets, he aims to keep dancefloors focused, surprised and moving until the very last end.
Maxi Perero
(Afro) House and Tech House, with vocals and melodies are the heart of my style. I’m drawn to tracks that don’t just make you move, but make you feel!
I like to build the energy gradually, starting with deeper, more emotional and melodic moments before shifting into powerful grooves, uplifting vocals, and high-energy rhythms.
I want people to lose themselves in the music, connect with the melodies, and feel the energy grow throughout the set.
This ship has sent music out into the world before.
The Veronica ship at the NDSM pier is no ordinary location. From 1964 to 1974, this ship lay at anchor just outside Dutch territorial waters, off the coast of Scheveningen. From this deck, Radio Veronica broadcast illegal radio to the entire Netherlands: music you couldn’t hear anywhere else, created by a generation that didn’t want to wait until it was allowed.
Do you know Radio 538? That name comes from this ship.
Radio Veronica broadcast on the 538-meter wavelength. When the offshore stations disappeared, that wavelength lived on in the name of Radio 538. On September 25, you will be standing at the place where that story began.
Something else that we now take for granted also originated on this ship: the DJ. Before Radio Veronica, there were mainly presenters. On board, the then 23-year-old Willem van Kooten — known by his DJ name Joost den Draaijer — developed a loose, jingle-driven style that laid the foundation for how DJs in the Netherlands spin and address the audience to this day. He also coined the term “palingsound” for the music of artists from Volendam.
From secret sea broadcasts to disco, funk, house, and techno for a mix of ages: this ship has always offered something different from the rest. On September 19, 2026, we will be on board with NEXT edition 2 — and that means with you!

Montana Aerts
Montana Aerts is a tech/house DJ blending driving grooves with a vibrant Latin twist.
Alongside her journey in music, she’s also a professional kickboxer a discipline that shapes her focus, intensity, and presence behind the decks.
Expect high-energy vibes, and a sound that keeps the dancefloor moving.
NêZ
Born in Lisbon, based in Amsterdam, NêZ is a groove-driven DJ known for genre-jumping sets. A lifelong music enthusiast, she blends Afro house, Baile funk, EDM and club edits with sexy bass lines.
Behind the decks, NêZ crafts fluid, high-energy journeys that celebrate dance culture—shifting from smooth grooves to heavier club pressure. For her, DJ-ing is an invitation to let go, connect, and feel the music fully.
Daniel Plainview
Daniel Painview is an Irish techno DJ living in Amsterdam.
He is drawn to dark grooves, driving percussion and intoxicatingly hypnotic rhythms.
With these tools he builds pressure on the floor, surgically released through fleeting moments of euphoria or calm.
